Rite of Christian Initiation

The Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) classes are set to begin September 12, 2021 and will run through May 8, 2022. The classes will be on Sunday at 4:15 pm and will conclude at 5:45 pm in time for 6:00 pm Mass. RCIA classes are intended for individuals desiring to enter the Catholic Church who have not been baptized in the Christian Tradition. These individuals are called the Catechumenate. RCIA Classes are also used to assist those who are not Catholic, but have been baptized, in understand the beliefs and teachings of the Catholic Church. Additionally, the classes are for those Catholics who have been baptized but have missed one or more of the Sacraments. These individuals are called Candidates. 


All you will need for the class is an inquisitive mind and an open heart. The textbooks will be provided for you. It is hoped that the participants will engage in the instruction and discussion. Topics follow the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults, provided, and include topics like, The Creed, The Sacraments, Christian Morality and Prayer. This program is scripturally based and will also include some historical background on Sacred Scripture.
